Description: The Almanac Beer Company was founded in 2010 by Jesse Friedman and Damian Fagan, and is best known for their barrel aged sours, such as their Farmers Reserve, Brettaville and Hoppy Sour series – sour and wild beers that combine oak aging and the bounty of California farms to create complex flavors and aromas. In addition, Almanac also produces Fresh Beer now available in cans, highlighting hoppy and bright flavors in San Francisco IPA, Saison Dolores, Craft Pilsner and citrus-laden Mandarina Farmhouse Ale. Farm-to- barrel brewing is about selecting the best in locally sourced fruit and blending it into beers inspired by the great brewing traditions of the world. Jesse and Damian collaborated to found the Almanac Beer Company—a brewery dedicated to producing seasonal artisan ales, brewed specifically to complement local cuisine sourced and prepared with the same great care and craft.

Description: While Bonny Doon Vineyard began with the (in retrospect) foolish attempt to replicate Burgundy in California, Randall Grahm realized early on that he would have far more success creating more distinctive and original wines working with Rhône varieties in the Central Coast of California. Description: Something’s happening, and it involves clown shoes and beer. Clown Shoes? It’s a long story, but to condense it a group submitted the name to the Beer Advocate contest that resulted in The Wrath of Pecant. Clown Shoes’ submission didn’t crack the top 5, which then fueled the fire for this team to keep at it. Description: To Don Sebastiani and Sons, family is clearly an important aspect of winemaking. While Don Sebastiani and Sons wasn’t founded until 2001, Samuele Sebastiani created a winery in 1904, and started growing the company, as well as the town of Sonoma. Over the years, the winery changed hands many times, but it always stayed within the family. By 2000, the winery was producing eight million cases of wine a year. However, at that time, Don Sebastiani sold many of the assets and kept only the family brand and the Sonoma winery and vineyards. Though he stepped down as CEO and Chairman in 2000, that wasn’t the end for him. In 2001, he and his sons, Donny and August, founded Don Sebastiani and Sons, eventually growing production back up to two million cases annually.
